dc.description.abstract | This paper discusses the concept of capacity and capacity building as well as the need for training and development for library and information professionals (LIPs). Concept of capacity building is discussed. The need for training and development of library and information professionals is pointed out. It also highlights the core skills and competencies required of LIPs and the strategies to achieve them. Challenges of capacity building and possible solutions are presented. The paper concludes by proffering specific suggestions that library and information professionals can adopt to develop and build their capacity. | en_US |
