Abstract: The gross significance of Nigerian manufacturing sector on her economy cannot be over emphasized when considering its role in building grounds for socioeconomic development, its practical employment potentials and its impacts on the general economy. This paper set to explore the role of the manufacturing sector on economic growth in Nigeria, 1999- 2018. The paper argues that for any nation to grow especially Nigeria, the importance of the role played by manufacturing sector on economic growth should not be underestimated. Thus, the government should develop and sustain the political will to improve and encourage the output of the manufacturing sector through appropriate macroeconomic policies, legal framework and sustain the present reforms with a view to developing the market so as to promote productive activities, investments, and ultimately economic growth. The government should also copy positively the Asian Tigers by investing more in technology, as without technological advancement all effort to boost the economy through the manufacturing sector will remain a mirage and government should create an enabling environment for small and medium business to strive by providing and building the necessary infrastructure to support her economic policies.
