Explains what computer viruses are, their effect and methods of protectionen_US
Since the invention of the mechanical computer by Charles Babbage in 1828, and the birth of the first digital computer during the second world war, several generations of computers have been born. With each generation of computers comes increased efficiency and reduced size. It may also be added that even though the size of the computer is reduced, its capacity and capabilities have increased. This increase in capacity and capability increases the need for file sharing, and by extension, virus sharing. This paper takes an overview of the computer, the way they are affected by virus and how to prevent and/or "cure" virus infected computers.en_US
