A nation that recognizes women in nation building, progresses. Women are the lifewire of human existence, therefore undermining the role of women or maltreating them is the most unfortunate thing that can happen to any society. It is rather sad that world leaders have politicized the problem of Domestic Violence Against women either by not doing much or acting slowly in international forums to wage war on Violence against women. This paper highlights the national economic implications of Domestic Violence against Women on the contributions made by women to national development in Nigeria and across societies. The key International instruments that protect the rights of woman must be enforced, and failure to do so by countries that are signatory and had ratified such covenant or protocols should attract serious international sanctions. Nigerian government has the moral obligation to bring together human and material resources to end domestic violence against women.en_US
