dc.description.abstractThe study tested the impact of fiscal policy on sustainable housing development in Nigeria from 1986 to 2020. The study used the ex-post facto research design and Autoregressive distribution Lag (ARDL) and error correction model (ECM) turned into used to decide the relationship and effect of fiscal policy on housing development in Nigeria. Accordingly, the Autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) become used to check the lengthy-run relationship and the impact of fiscal policy on housing development in Nigeria. The ARDL result shows that government total revenue in Nigeria has a positive impact on sustainable housing development in Nigeria and based on probability the government total revenue in Nigeria has a significant impact on sustainable housing development in Nigeria. Also, government total debt in Nigeria has a positive impact on sustainable housing development in Nigeria,and based on a probability government total debt in Nigeria has an insignificant impact on sustainable housing development in Nigeria. More also, government total expenditure has a negative impact on sustainable housing development in Nigeria,and based on a probability government total expenditurehas an insignificant impact on sustainable housing development in Nigeria. Therefore, the study recommended that government should evaluate the revenue and expenditure policies to increase the revenue generation in Nigeria to enhance sustainable housing improvement in Nigeria. Also, the government must reduce the use of debt on unproductive monetary activities to sustainable housing improvement in Nigeria.en_US
