Abstract: Child abuse is a universal problem that occurs in societies where human beings exist. It is a maltreatment of children in the guise of correcting or disciplining them. It has various forms, and the degree of its severity differs from one incident to another. Children of all ages are abused regardless of their ages, sex, or bodily makeup. This paper attempts to discuss the pattern of child abuse, causes, and counseling strategies for curbing child abuse. Recommendations are highlighted.
